1965 cb72 race bike

I'm wondering wether I should restore the forks or replace them with something newer and if so from what. I want to continue using the borranni rims. What do you think?

Tunster

Depends what you are going to do with it. Mine has CB350K4 forks, I think. Probably easier to get them uprated than the original CB72 forks.

The originals have that classic Honda GP look though.......

Decisions, decisions. Time to start looking for a GT750 double sided drum, too?

I'm going to use the wheels I have purely because the previous owner has tweeked them alittle. The forks don't have any proper mudguard mounts and need a complete refurb. I will see what's about at stafford on saturday

They look like standard CB72 forks. There are two lugs at the bottom of the stanchions and two mounts at the top on the inside.

A CB160 fender looks a lot like a works Honda component and mounts just on the top mount.

That looks great. Are the forks on mine original?

Yep, those lugs you see are the top mudguard brackets. The standard CB72 has stays which reach down to the lugs at the bottom.

Thanks g-man I thought so just wasn't 100%. If I keep them I think I may need to get some brackets made to tidy up the mudguard fitting. Luckily I know a good mate that could do that stuff.
