Wrong Battery

Post by noeyes » Sat Jun 14, 2014 9:54 pm

I saw this battery on Ebay saying it was a correct fit for early CA77s. I ordered it and without looking at it added acid and charged it. Well, went to put it in the bike and its 2 inches to long. Dangit!!! I was a DA for not inspecting it when I received it!!

Lesson learned.

That is the correct battery for the early Dream. The thin, long battery goes up to frame number CA77-1010862. From there on up, such as yours, it takes the conventional 12N9-3A. You may want to look at the AGM type batteries, such as the MotoBatt MB9U.

Thanks Mr. Tom! I guess I thought mine was an early Dream.

I'll give that MotoBatt a looksee.

I think this is about the cheapest site for the MB9U as they have free shipping

Out of stock, but thanks for the link. I'll watch it and look around some more too.
