CB77 Knob Damper

Post by nziems » Fri May 16, 2014 8:21 am

I'm wondering what the Damper for the Yolk is for. Is it important?

I've got a build going right now and am not sure if the Damper is necessary.

A must have in my opinion. I would not suggest going without it ,you will not be happy.

Okay, I understand that I will need to rebuild it.

But what does the Damper do? I'm kinda learning as I go here.

Thanks for the help.

It stabilizes the steering head as you ride. Also refered to some times as head shake if I'm not mistaken. This can happen with little or no dampening to the steering head. In fact Honda offered an add on stabilizer on certain models for even more stability. It can totally mean the difference between a smooth stable ride, and having to stiff arm it through corners.

It appears I am close to you. If you need any help with your build let me know.
