Back again this time with a 1961 CB77

I was nervous about this purchase it felt like a gamble. But as of right now I think it paid off. Everything here is an early part. I am kicking my self for not putting a bigger stake in the ground on that rear fender and rear brake hub! As the wheels are super nice on this thing. What looked like rust in the photos is just dirt. They are going to clean up super well.

The tank is worse than photographed on the ebay auction, but completely repairable, no rust, just some old fuel residue. The cylinders have a cracked fin... Not sure if I should repair or replace, I have a set of spare 62 cylinders here. The carbs need some serious cleaning, but look fairly good.

Headlight shell is a 61 type. Triple tree yoke included. The bike did not have a fork. Front and rear axle are hollow. Engine is in the right range to be matching (15 numbers off). I am sure I will have more questions as I dig in deeper, but as of right now I am pleasantly surprised with what I am looking at.

As of right now I know I am missing the following:
Speedometer
Rear brake Hub
Rear Fender
Tail Light Mount w/bulb assembly (61 Specific, I have the lens)
Handle Bar Controls/Perches/Levers

If anyone is selling any of this stuff let me know.

I don't want to get your hopes up but I may have an early speedo. You'll have to look at the photo, it's the one on the left and has the clip for the spring on the bottom. It has the Hm logo but no Nippon Seiki at the bottom.

The first of the NOS fork legs has arrived. Looking forward to getting the other side, it is due to show up any day now. Looks like I am able to replace what I am missing from this bike with NOS parts.

Rear shocks are aluminum. Disassembled them last night, the shrouds are thin on thin on one side, but they should clean up nicely.

The broken cylinder is at the machinist shop and should have its newly welded on fin by the end of the week.

I am fairly sure I am going to keep the bike its stock color of red, if anything just to break up the pattern of black Hondas that I have. Though I have to admit I am really tempted to paint it black.

Fin repair complete today. I'll need to clean up the rest of the fins to try and blend this in a bit more. The guy did a fantastic job on this and the price was much cheaper than I expiated, I have avoided fin repair in the past thinking it was going to be expensive, but it would have been more expensive to buy cylinders off ebay.

More to come this weekend as I start to go through and get the engine together.
