Has anyone ever ......

Has anyone ever bought a new cam chain for the cb77 (the endless type) and then installed a clip link from the origjnal cam chain? As to avoid needing to rivet the endless chain?

There is one brand (don't recall the name) that uses a smaller master link pin which I finally found a supplier. ......lm
