Trade Dream speedo's

Post by ian choplin » Thu Jan 02, 2014 8:32 pm

First post here, I've really been enjoying all the info here.
I just acquired a 67 Dream. And as with most of these, it needed some things to get it up to snuff. One thing I needed was a speedometer. Mine was finished.
I was searching eBay the other night and bought a speedo. But in my haste/inexperience, I bought a speedo for a baby Dream. To be honest, I didn't know there was a such thing.
So herein lies my dilemma, I bought the wrong speedometer.
Anyone out there in the opposite predicament as me? Anyone have a decent Dream speedo to trade or sell? I'm not looking for NOS quality, just looking for one that is usable and works.
Thanks,
Ian

Or if anyone has the internal mechanism with the spring still intact for sale, I would be interested in that too.
Thanks
Ian

I'm not having any luck finding a working speedo or usable parts. Every one I've seen on eBay is listed as non-working.
Are there any vendors I could try?
Thanks
Ian

Just have to keep an eye out on ebay. I have 2 or 3 but got them all to make one good working unit. One of these days I will get around to it. You can also purchase new face decals for them.

You might want to search this site. There is a company I think in Sand Diego, something like Foreign Speedo. IIRC they can refurbish for a little over $100.

Thanks for the info guys. Thing with mine, everything looks pretty nice, except the "brain" of the thing is junk. I'll keep looking.
