Ya got me stumped, but that's usally not to hard to do. Sure am looking forward to a follow-up when you find out what's going on there. For those that know, could the cam be 180 out causing the compression stroke to be on the opposite side making the firing order 180 out also?

You answered your problem with this statement.
Use the wiring diagram and put THE WIRES WHERE THEY BELONG or just leave them installed innocently and let it be. ......lm

Thanks for the reply.

Sound advice there from LM... There are plenty of things in the world to worry about. If your bike runs, let it be.

Thanks guys,

You are quite correct. Let well alone if the engine is running! When I eventually find out the root cause will let you all know. At least what ever it is , it us not a well known issue. Meantime, may I wish you all a very Happy New Year from Scotland.

You have already told us what you have. <<<I have double checked the wording and it is definitely switched from between the points and the condenser and the coils.>>>
What more are you expecting?. ...........lm

Should have typed double checked 'wiring' instead of 'wording' ! I guess you already figured that out.

Thanks for your help.
