With 78 views and no answer to your question, this is what I think; Did you buy the gasket from a reputable vintage Honda dealer or source? It came in what...a thin shipping box, or an envelope? I honestly don't know if there are markings on the gasket that would indicate Honda authenticity, but I'm sure there are good aftermarket gaskets available as well. If it appears to be in sound shape, and your answer to the first question is "yes", I'd use it. If your answer was "no" to the first question but "yes" to the second, I'd hope for the best and use it (both cases assuming the fitment is proper and materially it appears sound) following the torque (and re-torque) sequence and values in either case. Or...choke and buy another from a reputable supplier if this is the case, as I understand your suspicions.
Hope it works out.

Late thought;
Even a reputable supplier will on occassion bust down a pre-packaged gasket set to get you the one you've ordered.
