New project and need some help

Post by Ducsmine » Thu Dec 26, 2013 8:16 pm

My new project is a '67 scrambler. It's in really good shape, but I'm having trouble finding some parts. I'm looking for somewhere that has all the normal maintenance stuff like brake shoes and stuff. I'm also trying to find a speedometer. The original had broke at some point and they just took it apart. Basically I need everything but the housing. Or I could change it for something else? Also I'm having trouble finding shocks. I have a set for my 550 but the clevis hardware is different and I would need a larger bushing for the swingarm. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to our madhouse.
Look here, www.classichondarestoration.com/ or here, /www.olypen.com/retro/
Both are good places to buy parts. Also Ohio cycle may be a help.
Try ebay for the speedo then send it to a rebuilder for a quality job.
The shocks can be rebuilt also. somewhere here is a thread to do so.
Hope this helps,,,,,,Rusty
