That is an excellent project! I have your bike's American sister. A 1960 C77 with tubular handlebars. I also have a 1960 C72 with pressed steel bars.

Your one they are excellent too, hope our project will be done , I am working on the Engine at the moment ,very sad I have not get garage to keep the bike , well see next week if the solution can help ,

I do not know that much about the engine , but I wanna try,,,

That was an entertaining video! That fella had an interesting idea on unsticking that engine. I'm hardly an expert, but looking at the photos of your engine suggests to me that you probably have a LOT of corrosion inside of your engine, if the outside is any indication. I gathered from the video that the method suggested in it would work on a "mildly" stuck engine, with clean cylinder bores. An engine with badly corroded internals might need to be torn down and repaired before that engine would turn over.

Graham - wow, you pick some challenges! However, I am even more impressed with your work when I see what with you started with!

Just take the engine out and start stripping it, it isn't going to run in its present state anyway.

This is my CL engine at the moment, the left cylinder is well corroded the right piston will move but it pushes the barrel up on the seized left piston.

Sorry but Instagram turned picture 90degs but I think you can see my method anyway, I have used Coca-Cola to try and break corrosion.

Unsticking Engine

One last try...

Pull spark plugs and shoot oil down cylinders. Leave plugs out for now.

Pull off side stator cover on right side of engine.

Cut up an old rubber inner tube and wrap it around the stator then put a chain wrench around wrapped stator.

Using a breaker bar CAREFULLY rock back and forth several times. CAREFUL you don't want to snap the crank shaft end at stator.

Should loosen. If not time for tear down.

Worked for me on CA77 engine that sat up 30 years and was locked and looked to be in same shape as yours when I started. These old Honda's can be real rough but still want to run with just a little encouragement. Such a great engine design. Next you can sno bol the gas tank and then tackle the petcock (ugh). It's all doable.
