CB77 shift rods
i'm ordering mine from a linkage shop online. M8x1.25. LH threaded on one side, RH threaded on the other. They have them in every length, in 10mm increments. They're about $5.50 plus shipping.
They have just about everything you need to make any kind of linkage you want. http://www.midwestcontrol.com
What would be the benefit of going to heim joints instead of clevises? I assume it's smoother action since it's a ball and socket joint?
Thanks for the confirmation on that.
I'm trying to wrap my brain around which bits i need. The "threaded stud" goes through the shifter in place of the peg that holds the clevis in place, correct? You mentioned 6mm, so i'm looking for a set of threaded heim joints that have a M6 threaded stud, pretty short and trim the length, that have an M8 threading on the housing end? I know M8 is the stock threading for the shift linkage, but if i'm replacing the clevis joints, could i go with M6 on the rod? Or is there enough meat on the shifter to drill out the hole to 8mm?
