Help wanted on how to ship to the UK

Post by SMBH » Thu Oct 24, 2013 1:31 pm

Hi this is my first posting so im new to this forum, what I wish to know is how do I go about shipping one of these lovely Honda CB77/72 to the UK I see advertised on this site ,has any one had any involvment in shipping to the UK.

Here in the UK there is a shortage of good quality CB77/72's, I had both the CB77 & 72 back in the early 60's im now 70 years young and have two Triumph's a modded T140 and a 1964 5TA the T140 will be sold (hopfully) to make way for my new toy I realy would like a Honda CB77 or CB72 they were wonderful bikes.

Thank you for any help.

Rick Brett offers a service from the US to UK.

I made a crate and shipped my own CB160 back to UK via a sea freight service.

Rick Brett only ships from Michigan and he wasn't keen on doing the Customs paperwork when I spoke to him, I see he now mentions duty on his website.
I used http://www.kingstown-shipping.co.uk/ all I did was deliver the bike to Newark/New York they did the rest, if you want to know more details SMBH I will gladly speak to you on the phone about it.
The shippers you mention Graham brings back memories, Doral is where my daughter first moved to, I have been along NW 107th many times.

Thanks malcolmgb, at the moment im in the exploratry moad and just trying to see how I can get a hold of one of these wonderful bikes. As im in my later years 70 I suppose I should be more sitting in my rocking chair but a CB77 or a CB72 has always been my dream as I had two in my youth, and as every year passes I keep using the money for my children or other things, well I have made my mind up and it's now or never im going for my Dream.

I have no contact in the USA and no idea as to how to go about getting a bike from there it is somthing im looking at as there seem not many good one in the UK and the ones that do come up for sale look like they need lots of parts and they do not come cheap.

My budget would be about £5.000 top.

You seem not far from me I live in Redditch 20 miles south of Birmingham so if I may in the future need you help can I get in touch with you.

Thanks for the reply very kind of you.

SMBH

There are a few on eBay at the moment and they do crop up occasionally. In fact there was a 'new" unused one at Stafford last weekend, which didn't sell in the auction.

I will be selling a restored, red CB77 sometime next year but progress is rather slow.

Good Luck!
