Reproduction vintage tank badges

This may be a repeat as I have been off the forum for a while. I found and purchased two of the 300 badges. They seem pretty nice and are made in America. The badges come in a pair and arrived sooner than promised. If anyone has had any other experiences with this gentleman let me know. I have no interest in this effort but seems legit

They are good. Don't crank them down too hard or they'll crack all apart. I am going to use some O rings behind my next set...

Ray's badges are very good but I believe that they are manufactured in China like most things these days.....

At $37 per pair they are pretty nice.

I figured I was a little behind the curve. I knew you all were aware of this fellow.

China or not, they arrived in two days.

O ring sounds like a great idea.

These are the ones I have and they look good enough. Some minor surface irregularities due to molding (at least on mine), but unless you tilt them sideways in the light, once mounted, you'll never see it. I had the 14 dollar pair of steel badges, and they looked OK, but these have the fish eye sorta look which appears more like the original.

I just bought a pair from ebay. Same seller. Very good service. There was a shipping delay and he let me know right away. Then he shipped exactly as promised.

Badges are good from a foot away. Not for an original restoration. There is just not the same detail in the wings, Hm lettering, etc. Overall construction seems solid. Dimensions and placement of the holes were exactly as original.

Looking at the back side of the badges, it seems that the repro has a lot of detail in the wing feathers, but they just don't show the same as the original. It may be that Honda's technique in applying the silver was very specialized.

I have several sets of Ray's badges and did have some problems with cracking, which I have solved by flooding the backs with epoxy. I asked Ray why he doesn't manufacture them this way (like the originals) and he said the process just wouldn't allow it. anyway, his badges are very good, for the$$, IMHO, and they are what they are. just level the back with epoxy, don't overtighten, and they really look good.
