Clutch Cable

Post by edward3581 » Mon May 13, 2013 3:21 pm

I have purchased 3 clutch cables all to short. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas
the bike is 1965 cb77 low bar. the lenght I have been getting are 29 inches.
It seems that I need 32, 33 inches
thank you
Rick

I'm not sure the length of the cable I have, but I know that Retro bikes http://www.olypen.com/retro/ has the correct length for low-bar early superhawks, which is the correct length to allow you to route the cable beneath the tank. That's where I've purchased mine. The longer ones are for late-model mid-rise bars.

Also, the first time I changed my clutch cable, repeated removing and re-fitting of the k/s cover while I was figuring out how everything went back together, had caused the the clutch push rod to become hung up on a lip inside the case and would not push, making it appear as though my cable was too short. So just make sure your push rod is seated properly !
