CB77 headers on a CB160?

Post by Jlovvorn » Wed May 08, 2013 12:28 pm

I own both and could just try it and report back, but I thought I would ask first in case anyone has experince, and save a lot of cusing and frustration.

Repro cb77 headers are easy to find, but 160 are made of unobtainium.

I am going into non stock mufflers, so the only question is whether they will fit the 160 head.

Bonus points if anyone knows a non-Thai source for 160 header pipes.

Thanks!

Pretty sure that the CB 160 pipes are smaller diameter and a different shape. You may be able to get yours restored if they aren't too bad.

G is right. CB160 pipes are smaller diameter. CB77 pipes won't fit.

Thanks for saving me the time guys.

Unfortunately, the bike had one two piece and one one piece, so I only have one header to work with, and its trashed.

I will look for some used and maybe try and find a chromer willing to do pipes.

I bought the cheap ones, and they don't bend right.

The loop of the header sticks out so far that it almost contacts the front wheel. Well, not really.

When I get time, I will post a whole restoration thread. Took the bike all the way down to the last bolt, including the engine. Almost back.
