Newbie with Pictures

Hello everyone -

I have been lurking on the board for a while, but thought I'd introduce myself and post some pictures now that we've done some work on my 1965 CA77 305.

I took the MSF course last July and got my bike in November. It was originally restored about 5-6 years ago at Charlie's Place in SF. I enjoyed riding it for a few months, but it had some issues - a lot of play in the throttle, shifting into false neutral, etc.

We (my boyfriend and I) recently finished quite a bit of work on the bike. It was a mad rush to finish everything so I could participate in International Female Ride Day on Friday, May 3. My first motorcycle event as a rider! :-)

Although it's not quite as original as it was when I got it (I still have the old parts), my bike is now running much better and it's more enjoyable and easier for me to ride.

I think this is most of the work we've done:

A few months back:

- Changed the oil and cleaned the oil filter
- New front brake shoes by Metal Frictions in Seattle (March)

Past couple of weeks:

- Replaced rear wheel and sprocket carrier bearings with sealed bearings
- New front and rear sprockets
- New chain
- New handlebars
- New Motion Pro throttle assembly
- New clutch and brake levers
- New grips
- New headlight/horn switch
- New electric starter switch
- New Motion Pro cables - throttle, brake, clutch
- Added front brake lever actuated brake light switch
- Added quick release fitting on fuel tank crossover
- Replaced fuel petcock seal

I need to order a steering knob lock and mine seemed to be missing. One day I was riding and the knob loosened-up and came off of my bike. Luckily I grabbed it, but I need that one piece. It looks like I will need to order it from Ohio Cycles.

Last, but not least, here are a few pictures.

It looks very nice. These aren't so rare or expensive that a little custom touches to make them more rideable for the owner is fine.
