Better yet to connect the black wire directly to the negative battery post.

So what did you do with the pink wire to the ignition switch?

The pink wire goes to the headlight switch, along with a yellow lead spliced into the yellow wire that goes to the rectifier. They are connected by the headlight switch for more output with the lights on.

I know that Mike - Just can't figure out why folks are installing new rectifiers when you could use a rectifier/regulator combination.
