Well Other investment opportunties may warrant selling my prized Scrambler. I am trying to get a feel for what it is worth. I have seen the Ebay sales all over the board. This one is rebuilt from the ground up. All the major chorme redone. All base coat clear coat paint. Motor done 3rd over pistons new clutch setup from ED MOORE. The chain guard and rear license plate braket are red (unlike in the picture). RUns and drives awesome. So any input would be appreciated.

1966 CL77 Value?
you have a GREAT looking bike there---from what I have learned from EBAY is that it all depends on what someone wants to pay. I know that seems very open and it is not giving you a value but it really is just that from what I have noticed. I sold one about 6 years ago and did a BUY IT NOW price and to my surprise it did sell at that number. I know another guy that sold his for a good value but the thing was beautiful and he did everything imaginable to it.
I know that wasn't much help but when I sold my first one I put a reserve on it for what I thought is was worth and I got it. Spring seems to be the best time to sell them because people have the fever for them and guys that had one when they were the thing to have back in the day are reliving their youth. I would guess on eBay you could get between 3500-7000. The latter if you sell it in the right time and it is perfect and low mileage (and even better if it has a story, or a '65 ..). I've sold a number of bikes on ebay, but never a CL77 (although I frequently check to see what the sold cl77's go for).
A huge part of getting good money on ebay is presentation. Write nicely, post good pictures (like the ones you have). Make sure you have a title ... Videos seem to help even better. I always post a video of the bike starting and running down the street. I've got a bike in the paper right now, which has got me a handful of calls -- but weather isn't nice enough here yet. Something like the paper, depending on where you live, might work well. You end up getting people who aren't looking for a bike, but may see it and think they need it. It can really depend on demand. I would guess you could get 3500-5500 on ebay if it looks as nice as it does up close as it does in the photos (and numbers match). Just my best guess, and there are plenty of actual experts on here so take mine with a grain of salt!
