Left side cover

Post by Rickytic » Tue Mar 26, 2013 3:34 pm

66, 305 Cl77. Went through the search area without success. Getting ready to button up the left side case (Clutch side)..........The question is, do I use gasket sealer or not, and if so, any suggestion on what type and brand?

Thanks

I like Gasgacinch. A light coating on each side of the gasket. It tacks up and holds it in place while you assemble. No leaks, and when you take it apart it peels off of the case and cover easily without scraping.

The answer above uses something but HONDA didn't and I don't ether.
I've never had a leak problem with any gasket used with these engines. .....lm

Perhaps I shall try it without any sealant when I reassemble this time and see how it goes!

Thanks Bob750, and LM.

Will button it up tomorrow without any sealer, if it leaks, will try another method. It will be awhile before I start it up, so will get back to you both when I do. Expect a month or so.
