Frame and engine numbers

Post by conbs » Sun Mar 24, 2013 9:17 pm

Boscoe,

First, you have to promise not to ask what kind of oil to use.....

Second sorry for hijacking your thread with the frame numbers issue. I was trying to help you. Its just one of those things that happens. The problem is that there is not much in the way of Honda documentation to help with Dreams in the first place. And what little little documentation there is from Honda has a number of inaccuracies. These are the kinds of things that a Dream owner does need to be familiar with. There is another thread going where a member spent an hour trying to convince the Sheriff that the frame and engine number would not be the same on his 305 Dream. He got the title eventually, but that kind of thing can be pretty frustrating.

I have 2 bikes that are well within 200 and my third Dream is a '64 that had a '60 motor in it when I got it. I bought a "service" case with no numbers on it and am building the motor with that. My DMV guy said that will not be a problem.

I still think that 99% of 305 Dreams will have frame and engine numbers within 200 units. Anybody disagree?
