superhawk kickstart - switch to scrambler style?superhawk kickstart - switch to scrambler style?I've searched the forums but can't find a mention of the above topic. I am pretty sure someone mentioned making this switch a while back. I don't know how involved it is; whether the footpegs or stock muffler (my right muffler isn't stock) would impede a scrambler backward style kickstarter. The engine cover for the scrambler should be a perfect match for the superhawk engine, right?
I know I'm not the only one unhappy with the short throw on the superhawk front style kickstarter. Anyone here know how much is involved with switching over kickstarters besides the engine casing and kickstart mechanism?
Re: superhawk kickstart - switch to scrambler style? It's the foot peg. .................lm
Re: superhawk kickstart - switch to scrambler style? Why? It won't be the same bike! The fwd kick is part of the character of the CB72/77. Kickstarting whilst sat on the bike is kind of awkward, so, with the bike on the centrestand, stand facing aft and kickstart with your right foot; this feels like a more natural action. Throttle is to hand, just arse-about-face. You only need to get it started fome here (don't try riding ths way round - it's unnatural!) and it becomes second nature after a short while. Feel proud when you do it! Especially in the street. Onlookers and fellow motorcyclists will think "Bitchen! A CB77 rider!"
CL77I never hook my foot on the rear passenger peg. I took the things off and put them on a box. Don't carry passengers anyhow. JMHO
