Rear Fender Collar

Post by Rickytic » Fri Mar 15, 2013 11:55 pm

After looking at the parts fiche for the rear fender on the CL77, I see there is a right side collar that goes inside the fender and through the rubber gromet through which a bolt and nut attaches the fender and the grab rail, part number 33609-283-670.

Question, when I took my bike apart there was only one collar and it was on the left side, is there supposed to the saame collar on both sides? If so, I am looking for another collar if anybody has one for sale, please let me know.

If your fender has a hole larger than a 8mm bolt you do need the part and a rubber sleeve for it to fit into. ...lm

Thanks Ed, the fender is the large hole variety. I put the 3/4 od/1/2id gromett in the fender which takes the collar just fine. Only have one collar so will build one or find one online/forum. Will not be using the muffler, will go with snuff-or-nots like my original bike in 66.

Ed, I have two rear fenders, one has the small holes with the welded nuts on it, and the other one has the large hole. I have prepared and painted the large hole fender and have it installed. Question, which fender is correct for the 66 CL77?

Depends on the frame number.
1033481 is the last one to use the small hole/nut fender (2 hole license plate bracket). .....lm
