Blue Scramblers Help Needed

Post by ahenthus » Sat Feb 23, 2013 9:49 pm

I'm planning on restoring my 66 Scrambler in blue. Thanks to researching through this forum, I know the proper blue (thanks to LOUD MOUSE). What I'd like is pictures of the blue ones. I've done some pretty extensive searches and have only come up with one decent picture and it is pretty small. Please attach some pics of blue ones or links to pics. I remember the blue from back in the day mainly on CB and CL160s and Dreams but I don't remember any blue 305s. Most of you can empathize with me on this because I know you went through this same thing when you were waiting on delivery of your first bike or just sitting in your teenage bedroom wishing for your first bike. I had to endure months of waiting on the next shipment of cycle magazines and checking out my dog eared Honda brochure in Vietnam. I bought my 68 CL350 when I returned. Thanks in advance.

I do not have any info on blue Scramblers. How ever I just want to take this moment to say thank you for serving. It was a difficult time back then and most Americans forgot to thank the Viet Namn vets. So my friend THANK YOU !!!

Do you mean blue tank or blue frame?
I have a blue tanked/side cover '67. If that's what you are looking for, I could send you pics if you'd like and a color code for a non-candy color that is pretty close. Original was candy.

Thanks Mips, I'm not talking about the late 67 paint jobs that were candy blue and candy red or burnt orange. The ones I want pictures of are the ones with blue frames with silver tanks, side covers and fenders. Just like the black and red ones except blue instead of black or red. I know they made them, they're just very rare. One of my buddies from HS is doing a 67 restoration in red. I can't have the same bike as his. Thanks for the kind words Ford Guy. I spent 25 years in the military and retired 13 years ago. Four years in the USAF, six years out for college and a couple of cross country motorcycle trips followed by 21 years in the Army. My trips were on a 75 Yamaha XS650B that I basically rode into the ground. I bought one just like it 13 years ago and will keep it forever.

I'm still hoping someone will post some pics of blue ones.

Very nice Tim! I'm planning on doing my '63 Domestic CL72 in blue. Fiquired the bike itself is rare so why not use the rare color on it.
