44 tooth sprocket?

Post by mips » Wed Jan 16, 2013 2:27 pm

I have a 44 tooth sprocket I got with a box of parts, labeled for CL72 and CL77. It seems awfully big compared to the 40 tooth one I have on the rear. Any problem running it? I am putting on a new chain ..

Yeah, you'll have a top speed of 45-50 mph! I have a 16 - 40 combo on my CL72/77 street tracker, and it's too low for freeway riding. I just sent a stock small hub sprocket to sprocket specialists, and had them make me a 34 tooth rear for it. I have fronts ranging from 13-16 teeth, so I can always change the gearing that way if needed. I am also running a 520 chain on that and my cafe' CB77.
