SCRAMBLER ON EbAY

Post by LOUD MOUSE » Sat Feb 24, 2007 12:35 pm

At present there is a CL72??? listed on eBay that will close on March 1.
A friend of mine asked me what I thought of the bike so I looked at it and below is what I found. And the bids are up to $4,500.
BUYER BE WARE!!!!!!!!!!!!! ..............................lm

Both carbs look like 305 (makes me wonder about the head and cylinder size)
Left side spark plug wire holder is installed backwards (can't see right side holder)
Looks like oil leak at right side below points cover (across entire front of head?)
Knob on headlight installed backwards
Left side tank badge cracked
Steel front fender (305)
Wrong size front tire
Painted side stand
Buddy peg metal and all other bolts/fasteners have been wire wheel buffed and will rust in short time
Ground wire installed to wrong rear engine mount bolt
305 left side pipe
Wrong seat and a poor copy at that (buddy strap and fabric)(seam at rear :-( )
Mirrors not bent so they can be used when riding (not NOS but 041 issue of today)
All cables are junk
Graded bolt holding left side of headlight
Rear rim is a disaster
Chrome on right rear shock body is bad
Missing case saver under the clutch cover case
Looks to me like the oil filter cover and rotor covers are painted rather than polished
CL72-11000XX is a 1964 production bike not 1965
This is not the last issue of the 250 because the last issue is a Large Brake issue.
To much description for nothing more than a nice paint job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aren't ya glad ya asked???? :-D . ..............emo

Good news.
The seller has taken this bike back and the buyer is pleased with the way the seller handled things. ..............lm

EMO, Thanks for the update! Sounds like the seller is OK and the buyer is very lucky. Steve Greer
