Wrench for 10mm head bolt below spark plug?

Post by Jlovvorn » Tue Dec 04, 2012 11:05 pm

Can't get it good and tight with flat wrench and can't get the socket wrench in there.

Anyone have a favorite tool for this?

I used a 1/4 drive rachet with a shallow socket. The finer tooth and smaller the ratchet the better. Wrench doesnt work so well cause of the recess in the head.

5- 6 footpounds of torque, easy enough to pull with a short wrench.

Will going at it harder do any harm, or do anything to help my oil leak?

No real advantage in getting carried away with tightening that small nut. Most of the clamp load is in the 8 head studs. However a recheck after retorquing is a good idea.
