Brake pedal return spring

Post by cleg » Sun Dec 02, 2012 12:03 pm

How is the spring that assists the brake pedal return oriented?I can't seem to figure out where each end is supposed to hook. This is for a 66 Superhawk. I took pics upon disassembly but it's still unclear.

Mine could be wrong but it works. One end of the spring hooks over the metal end of the foot peg closest to the side of the bike the other end hooks over the under side of the brake pedal.
The circular part of the spring mounts over the rounded portion of the brake pedal end where it attaches to the bolt with the grease zerk. Hope this works for you.

Thanks, I found the correct spring and it was immediately apparent how it was oriented.
