Petrol tap thead and pitch size

Post by Rookhill » Sun Nov 18, 2012 9:21 am

Good morning all from a frosty morning in Lincolnshire. Can some one please tell me the size and pitch of the thread on a 1961 CB72 petrol tap. Also the O/D size of the exhaust down tubes.
Going "autojumbling" at Newark now so enjoy your day, thanks H

A bit late for you now, but I think the pipes are 38mm. Not sure about the tap. Was it a good jumble?

Thanks for the info. I come across a 6 metre length of stainless pipe on site the other day going in the bin ! 1.5mm wall and 40mm O/D. I thought i might be able to use it.
As for the jumble, weather bright, dry but cold if you stood still too long. Plenty of stalls and a good crowd, especially for this time of year.
There was a 1966 CB72 for restoration, missing the front mudguard and silencers but seemed to have every thing else. Seat trim as well. Plenty of interest and yours for £950. Not sold when I left.
Also a very clean CB72/77 with lots of NOS tin ware. LOTS of interest , couldn't get near it. I think it was supplied by Stamford Classics, £2500. Found a headlight nacelle for 10 quid, only to find it dented/rippled when I turned it over. Next time?
Thanks again G-Man
