Newbie with "New Bike"Newbie with "New Bike"Just picked this up yesterday, engine #1011688 frame #1011743. Now to buy manuals and parts books, study this forum, and dig into my very first Scrambler ever. Looks like a tank cleaning first, then the carbs, tune-up, & new front tire (has some sidewall cracks).

Nice find Ron, looks to be in great shape, and welcome to the forum.
I have found the search area of this forum to be of great assistance, and makes good reading when you just want to gain more knowledge about these bikes. I am basicially a Harley kind of guy, but the CL77 was my first bike in 1966. These bikes can be frustrating at times and absolutely joyful at other times. Have fun and enjoy. Tic Pics AgainThanks for the welcome; these posts in differenct subjects are fascinating to read...many questions I would have had to post have been addressed somewhere within I am finding. So good on that. Been doing some general cleaning first, and find entire bike is in great shape.
Great Bike!!!Love the red frame scramblers! If mine ever needs painting its gonna get a red frame. you did well too, since the front fender and pipes look to be in great condition...you will find that the folks here are nothing but great. When you have time just look back through the older posts in all the sub forums. you will be amazedat what you cna learn. Be safe out there! Tim
Thanks Tim. Old posts really are great. I learned how to properly remove the gas tank rubber pads, to prepare for sanding/painting, without harming them. Glad you like the red/silver also, my favorite too. That 305, when I was in high school, and they were "new", was top dog on the streets and definitely the first to top out any hill climb. A different time....nice to go back with this Honda Scrambler. Later, Ron.
