Trying to identify....what the heck is this?

Post by jbunceiii » Fri Sep 07, 2012 1:59 pm

This from my 66 CL77....my basket case:)

These wires are coming from the coils back to where the battery would be. There is no battery in the bike. I am assuming the lower wire with the silver nut is for the positive battery connection. But I am not quite sure what the wires are doing that I am holding....I can safety say that it didnt come from the factory like this.....I have the wiring diagram.....

Maybe a battery bypass or something?

Any help would be great in identifying what this is doing?

Kinda looks like it might be an old bus style fuse holder that's been bypassed? like one of these:

The bike just started smoking all the sudden. Now the wirings all melted together!!!!!

I'd call that a fuse eliminator if it had a name.

Both ends are there. Take the wire off from both the buttons. Polish the buttons and make sure the spring is in place.Install a new fuse of the proper type.
