Barn Find 1967 CL77
Barn Find 1967 CL77Hey There Hondoids, New to this forum. Just bought a 1967 CL77 from original owner. He bought it new in Sauk City, Wisconsin at a Ford dealer in 1967 then went into the Navy to Viet Nam for 6 years. It is 99.9% original with 12,600mi. Has orig tool kit, but only one key, #NB306. Could use another. Also I need an owners manual or a copy. Only missing the headlamp Knob on headlamp housing. Has original muffler. Tires are replacements and need source for original size and type. Any suggestions? Cleaned carbs, tank and fuel delivery petcock and started on second kick. Brakes are original and worn. More suggestions? Do I find new shoes or have redone? Frame #CL771031860 Eng #CL77E1031859. Need cables etc, origs still on. Any help or advice would be appreciated and payed back in spades. Red frame model. I paid $1500. I own 5 other motorcycles, 2 BMWs, 1974 R75/5 and a 1988 K75 (my favorite rider) and 3 other Hondas, A 1976 Goldwing 9000 orig mi., a 1984 VF1100 Sabre, and a 1982 FT500 Ascot with 5000 orig miles. Ascot is for sale. Thank You, Gregg. Lodi Wisconsin.
Search functionWelcome to the Forum. Learn to use the search function on this site. It is not great, but if you spend time with it, you will unlock the vast resource that is contained here.
The search function will lead to several threads on tires, metric replacements and where you might find them. Brakes and knob probably found on ebay or in the "parts wanted" forum here. I think you can find the manual online. Search this site to find out where. Best wishes on your new bike.

Barn Find CL77Hey Jon, Thanks for your response. Rode bike yesterday!! Need brakes bad. Everything seems to work. Have decided to keep it as an 'Original Survivor' will only fix what is broke. Confused as to Year of bike. Although titled as a 1967, wire harness tag says 1965 and VIN # seems like a 1966. Any thoughts? Need ALL cables, getting extra keys from Hawaii of all places. Ordered Clymer shop manual off ebay. Let me know what you have as spares. New Berlin is not that far from Lodi. Thanks, Gregg
CL77Honda usually titled them as the year sold. If the tag says 1965, then it probably is and right at the change over. 67s also had the muffler fixed to the top pipe and slid on the lower. I believe the chain guards on the early models were of the slotted type and the 67s also had a seam on top of the tank. JMHO
