The matching numbers thing is certainly unusual, too bad the rest of it is such a piece of crap.

What I'm seeing is that the s/n on the frame probably isn't what Honda supplied. It looks as if someone hand stamped it and wasn't careful about alignment of the numbers. I'd be interested to see what the CHP would make of it when they did a VIN check.

CL77 Frame Numbers

About five-six years ago I sold an un-numbered CL77 to a person from Alabama. I just had a Bill Of Sale and gave the same. North Carolina is such a pain in the butt and considerably backwards when it comes to an un-numbered frame. Numbers did have the CL prefex. Gave up on a North Carolina title. It was a really great running and orange tanked CL77. The tag on the harness said 1967 and the tank was seamed. Should have kept it as gave it away for $1200.00. NC Highway Patrol Inspector had no good info for titling except for posting some rediculous amount of $$$ as bond.
