bike lift

Post by masonmart » Tue Apr 10, 2012 11:54 am

I've had a big reduction in garage space so am having to get rid of my hydraulic lift. Can anybody recommend a compact lift suitable for the '77. It's just too low to work on at floor level.

I bought the Sealey pump-it-up-with-your-foot lift (still hydraulic). I don't think they come much smaller a footprint and still remain stable.

Clarke (MachineMart) have a small stool-type lift, designed for dirt bikes, but it didn't look suitable for a CB.

If you are handy, you could probably make a foldable bench from angle iron and plywood with a ramp to run your bike up and onto the bench. When not in use, fold it up and put it away. Might be able to modify an old weight bench for the purpose. I see them all the time in garage sales. They are usually assembled with nuts and bolts so they ship flat. Substitute hex nuts for wing nuts and you're good to go.

regards,
Rob
