Upper crankcase cover fixing studs.

Post by ozzie041974 » Tue May 22, 2012 3:55 pm

Hi, I have the bracket and cover for the top of the crankcase but there is no studs or bolts sticking up to attach bracket to. There doesn't seem to be any thread in the two holes and when I stick a screwdriver down there it goes right down into a void. I was just wondering if someone can tell me, are they supposed to be studs threaded in from the top or should there be some kind of bolts coming up from the inside ?

Yes, studs in the lower crankcase half . With a bit of luck, possibly someone removed them and they came out with the nuts. Otherwise it'll have to come apart. HTH

I think I found reference to the studs you mentioned. 8x96mm. This seems about right.
Thanks for your reply.
