That's them! Geez, for an extra $650, I could have had a bike too! The guy also threw in some highway bars, but I don't think they'll work on the Dream. I cleaned and shined up the bags last night and I like them. They are just the size I wanted and they're in really good shape. No cracks in the bags or the lens'. I want to get them painted to match the bike, but I'm thinking of having the bike painted and I'm not sure what color yet. That may be a winter project. I want to ride it around a bit first! I finally got it running and want to have some fun and show it off!

I've seen those bags a number of times in the past, probably back when they were new. I think they were sold by JC Whitney. Not sure who made them. My first thought was they were made by Bates, but I did a quick search and could find no Bates bags with that round tail light. Plus I don't think Bates would have marketed their products thru JCW.

Wish I still had a JC Whitney catalog from the early 70's. They had a huge bike section.

regards,
Rob

OK....so now how do I hook these lights up on the bags to be running and turning lights?? I don't currently have any turn signals on this bike and I want to put some on the front as well. I know I need to get a switch for the handlebar, but I guess I need a relay too? How do I wire it? (I hate electrical stuff, and it hates me!)

Winkers

Since you have to buy a flasher unit to add winkers to your bike, you should strongly getting LED bulbs (which requires an LED flasher). The bulbs are a little more expensive than 1156's, but put almost no strain on your electrical system and are seen to be brighter.

It is a fairly simple set up. There is a color wiring diagram for CA's in the Announcements at the beginning of the Electrical Forum. Color code your wires and it will be plug and play.
