Check your carb floats for leaks. May not be the issue but its another thing to cross off the list.

Are you 100% sure both carbs are cb77 carbs ? one isn't stamped "CL" on the side ?

I explored this before, at your suggestion, and didnt find CB77 anywhere except on the choke lever.

Where would it otherwise be stamped?

Also, I see some threads about coils overheating and giving out.

The idle dropping way down when hot is consistent with one side dropping out.

What is the correct Dyna coil replacement for a Superhawk?

I want to swap out the entire ignition when my electronic ignition arrives in the mail.

Maybe its a coil pooping out when hot.

Thinking of ordering up some Amal carbs and bolting them on - just to see what happens.

Crazy and excessive?

Or bold and decisive?
