I'm confused.
I bought a condenser that is suposed to be for my 66' 305 scrambler with type I ignition.
The new coil has 2 wires, the old coil had 4 wires, am I suposed to modify my harness, splice this into the old wires?
I got this from Sirius on ebay.
I just notice the note on the auction.
"Fits CL77 BUT LEADS ARE TOO SHORT"
I need guidance, I'm sure the answer is simple.

Have I bought the wrong condenser?
Re: Have I bought the wrong condenser? As you look at the old part you will see that the two shorter ones go to the (-) side of each coil and the two longer wires attach to the points.
If the part ya paid for doesn't have them it won't work. .......lm
Well I thought about it and did some continuity testing with a VOM.
Each set of wires on the old set are connected inside. I figured I could try anything that would not harm the new part, and I'm not doing a stock restoration and all manner of bodging is permissable. I cut the old wires right next to the dead condenser, stripped them and crimped on the bullet receptacles, plugged in the new conenser to the old harness and got spark on each side. Now I still dont have the carbs finnished because everything seems to be stuck on them, and the exhaust is off the bike beacuse I have big ol holes in the pipes. But dog gone it I have compression and spark so I squirt some fuel in each intake port and give it a few kicks and squirt some more fuel kick some more, and was rewarded with a few energetic revolutions and some fire shooting out the exhaust ports. Looks like I'm just a little further down the road on this wreck. Rusty
