Jerry,

I checked race results form the Island and was amazed at the lap times from your bikes. Looks like you and Levi dominated the weekend. Congrats

Thank you Richard, We took out the Natioal Championship Classic double at Symmons Plains in November . Biggest winning margin being 27 seconds in 7 laps. The Island Classic was good to us last week end and both the 350 and the 500 did a clean sweep in their respective classes with Levi again taking out the Phil Irving Trophy. Ron Angel had his new 500 Paton out on the track with David Johnston riding it and it appears that the 500 Honda and the 500 Paton perform about the same with lap times and race times being within tenths. Levi also rode the 500 in the International Challenge for the UK Team. As you know this is for bikes up to 1300cc and 1982 vintage. The 500 which was the only 1962 entrant did a creditable job in all races starting at 32nd grid position and finishing mid field 18th and 19th in a field of up to 40 bikes. Some of the bikes he rounded up included 2 tz750s, 2 tz350s. 1135 Katana, 1170 Harris Kawasaki, 1135 Mackintosh Suzuki. The boy rode well and I would like to think that he all did the Honda CB72/77 Superhawks proud. All the best Jerry

It was indeed a great meeting, those bikes are fantastic to both see and hear in action, and so very well ridden by Levi (who by the way seemed a rather nice young man), wonderful watching 'em clean up the bigger, younger machines.
Great job Jerry and Levi.
Paul.

G'day Paulie,

Doesn't Jerry make incredible bikes? I still have photos I took of his first 450 -500 at Winton in what must have been 1980 ish. I was impressed then and they are even better now.

If you're in the market for a CB77 race bike with 4 or 5 speed box, let me know. Mine is stored at my son's place and he decided to get married and move down the coast and has no garage. What was he thinking? :-(

Unless I move back to OZ very soon, I'll have to stick in storage and that is a bit of a waste of a bike I just rebuilt the motor, forks and rear shocks and fitted a new DYNA ignition and new coils. Next time I'm back I'll fire it up and take it out to Broadford if he hasn't lost my B/F medallion.

Not much actual progress yet but a lot of measuring and trying old parts to see if they could be modified.

Here is an idea that I've been working on for a classic replica engine. Some cutting / welding / re-working required to realise this but it should be fun.

No prizes for spotting the G-clamp.. :-)

Jerry

Thanks! It's all for fun, just to see if I can do it. I'll never be able to afford a CR77 so this is just my way of producing something for myself at home. I have machining facilities and know a couple of ace welders.

It may take time but I'm determined to see it through.
