Newbie starting a resto...

hello all, just getting things down here so bear with me please. I'm a longtime reader of this forum but a first time poster. I've just started a restoration on a 1967 Dream I bought a few years ago. It's all there and in really pretty good shape but finally made the decision to do a complete restoration rather than just ride it as is. I've already come across a few specifics I wanted addressed here so will throw out my questions, include a few pics and see what happens!
Here's the bike as it was when I bought it...

I've completely disassembled it now in preperation for bead blast and paint...

So far all has gone well with no issues...knock on wood! At this point I am wondering if anyone is interested in purchasing the mufflers that are currently with the bike. They are not stock by any means but they are in perfect shape, fit on easily and the bike runs great with them on. I'll be replacing them with the origional so have no need for these.

Hi Hans! The bike looks great! I'm right up the road from you in Charlottesville if you ever need any help.

I see you've got the chromed sidecovers, too...I have a '64 CA77 with those, and I've never seen another one with those until now...Is the chain guard chromed too?

I couldn't have touched that bike.....not to imply that you shouldn't.

For after market pipes those are pretty nice. I really like the chrome side covers also.

Now I'm worried, have I started down the wrong path? About those covers, i have been back and forth about keeping them on. Not stock by any means, and a bit too flashy I sometimes think, but then I look at them and like it too. Was going to have them blasted and painted but now am considering keeping them and just trying to find a set of stock ones to put on too. If only money wasn't an object...

mods. like the chromed side covers I think are very cool because it's period correct, unless of course you want your bike to look like it's straight out of a 1966 Honda ad but thats just my humble opinion.

I didn't mean to give the wrong impression. :D

Absolutely do what you want. If you want to pain them yellow, paint them yellow. I like flawed original over perfect restored, But that is just me. There are also times I'll look at mine and think I should redo it.

Anyway, I'd trade an original set for the chrome set.

Absolutely do what you want though. In the end you simply posted the picture and my first reaction was "wow, that's a nice looking bike".
