Genuine gasket kit

Post by danielmoto » Wed Jan 25, 2012 5:13 pm

I am an idiot, i should have put this in the parts id section sorry. Would someone please be kind enough to help me as to why this gasket is different to the one installed on my 1965 cb72 uk bike engine number cb72e-102921 and frame number cb72-102976 the gasket kit contained the correct one that was fitted to the engine (part number is 12191-259-010 superseeded by 12191259010 and if it is for a later bike etc would anyone like it ? Was a little dissapointed that i had to buy the 2 oil seals and another breather plate gasket as they were not included in the genuine top end gasket kit, ive posted a picture of the gasket to help someone identify it and also if you want it if its not needed by me... cheers wayne aka danielmoto
ps; the lego points to were the two areas are different to the other gasket fitted to my engine.

Wayne

This is for the earlier bike which had a different oil feed to the cylinder barrel. Later engines (1962 on, I think) had a revised oil feed and a different gasket.

I have a couple of 1960 engines which could use it.
