I have Silver part I and II, and the original shop manual (seems useless), and an original owners manual (which is really helpful).

Clutch and electrical problems seem to be sorted out. Battery was in poor shape, but just having the key turned on the bike, without starting seems to put a significant load on the battery - odd design.

I am riding it now and she is running strong. Hates cold weather though.

Carbs are overflowing and making the idle high, and the front end is really bumpy and dives on braking.

Got an oil leak on right side. About a quarter sized puddle after a ride of 15 mins or more. Seems to be coming from up near the starter and not from the rt cover.

Next steps are carb overhaul, float adjust, front fork oil, and then a look at points and timing.

Then I need to look into the starter.

Then some painting and new tires

Have been reading up in the forum on all of the above. This is an amazing resource, especially for a dummy like me.
