Diado 219t rivet link
Diado 219t rivet linkDose anyone know where i can buy a rivet link for Diado 219t cam chain in the US.
Hey Dave I just did a google search of your part and came up with this in Florida:
http://www.cb750supply.com/products/4/e ... tensioners I think the Rivet Link you need is part: #01-8803 Its 11 items down on the page. The cam chain that this link fits is listed as the 10th item on the page so check it out to make sure it is what you have. Make sure to check this, because I don't have all the information about the exact cam chain you have but this site should have what you need. Good to hear. Do you have a Cam Chain riveter/breaker? Thats what I'm up against right now.
They seem to range in price form 50 - 150 dollars. $80 gets you a good Motion Pro brand. I did see where I might be able to use a harbor frieght chain breaker to rivet my cam chain together the cost of this item is only about 9 dollars. I might give it a look to see if it will work before buying another special tool. The problem seems to be in the way the new cam chains are received. Most of them will come to your door endless (No Master Link) and you need to break them apart by pressing out one of the link pins. This caught me off guard. Had I known this, I would have at least purchased a rivet link of the correct type and size to go along with the new chain.
It is my understanding that a properly riveted master link is more secure than a clipped master link. Kind of a pain though if you don't have the proper tools. So . . . I too had to search for the correct link and for a tool to do the job. In my quest for a good Master Link Rivet tool, I discovered this video on You Tube and it got me thinking. This may be a good alternative to the $80.00 Motion Pro Rivet Tool. Now not having seen or tried it, I can’t vouch for the end result but I just might try it out for $9.00 and see the results. I have an old chain here and bought an extra link to try or just in case something happened to the first one. It would be a great alternative to someone in a pinch and on a budget. Plus you know harbor freight; you could always take it back if you were not satisfied. Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qd83Y_hjbEU
