help with header. Would Jet Hot coating be good idea?

Here are my 1964 CL72 pipes.

What would you recommend for restoring these pipes?

Jet Hot coating silver has been recommended. Has anyone tried that?

I think chrome would be too expensive and would necessitate grinding the pipes down too much.

What do you think? I don't want to spend a lot.

Header wrap hides it nicely! Otherwise a ceramic based coating.

Living in SoCal may preclude this concern. But, I've heard from others that have used FG wrap that it causes the pipes to seriously corrode underneath the wrap. Now could be because they let the wrap get wet and then sit. But thought I'd mention it in case others have had similar experiences.

I'm just after cheaper but quality fix of the rusty header cosmetic issue. I love the shiny pipes, and they otherwise are in pretty good condition considering the age.

I was just considering putting Jet Hot on an exhaust I have. So I did some research on the web. One of the Harley sites had a thread that was not very encouraging. It appears their quality and price quotes at not what they used to be. Some of the issues were regarding some of their color products, but there were comments regarding they silver header coating as well.

I guess that although I initially suggested Jet Hot to you, I would personally have to do a lot more research before I sent my pipe to them. I guess I'd want to talk to the gent that had the coated exhaust on his Ossa and which introduced me to Jet Hot. I wonder if his exhaust had been done a long time ago.

regards,
Rob
