swingarm Q

Post by Dick Eastman » Sat Oct 01, 2011 10:46 am

My '66 CL77 swingarm has .80" wide axle/adjuster slots at rear; my parts bike [some of which are CL72 parts] swingarm has a .85" wide slot on chain side, and a .75" wide slot opposite side. Is this a CL72 swingarm? My parts bike came in boxes, and it is titled as a 1966 [the frame and engine nos. are a little newer than my '66], but it also came with CL72 forks and wheels.

Also, does anyone sell swingarm bushings/sleeves? How 'bout the small felt dust rings which fit into the bushing ring groove?

Thanks,
Dick

Yes the CL72 (small hub) has a stub axle for the sprocket and this accounts for the larger slot. What kind of lower shock mounts does the swing arm have?

The lower shock mount is a rubber bushing with an 8mm hole.

Thanks for the info.

65 CL77 used that swingarm as well. It's for the small hub wheels.

I forgot about 'small hub' CL77s. I have a 'large hub' CL72 but it has been fitted with later wheels. The front is an 18inch CB72..... :-)
