CB92 Camshaft Bearing Tolerances

Post by Phil-UK » Mon Sep 26, 2011 6:27 am

Hi

This is on behalf of a friend who has bought a CB92 Benly.

Does anyone out there have specs for the tolerances for the camshaft to head clearances ?

Background:
He wasn't happy with the engine and pulled the top end off to find one side had worn cam lobes which have now been rebuilt but he is concerned that wear in the areas where the cam is supported may have led to a loss of oil going to the lobes.
It looks like oil is fed to one end of the cam and then is fed along it .. correct ?
The bore in the rev-counter drive piece looks worn but he has not got a service manual so no idea what tolerances Honda specified. If this fit is not good could it lead to a reduction in the amount of coil getting to the cam lobes ?

thanks in advance

Phil
