Sorry if this has been covered somewhere else, but I couldn't find it... I will be buying my first bike ever in the next few days. Found a really nice 1967 CA 160 locally that appears to be in good condition (from e-mails and pictures, at least). Now I have a question I can't seem to find an answer to. Michigan law requires turn signals as far as I can tell... The motorcycle didn't come stock with turn signals, and I know there are aftermarket kits out there, but after some further research it appears that these were 6v systems, and the kits are all 12 volt...

Inquire further into your state code. Normally the law is not retroactive, thus is not applicable to vehicles manufactured before the law was passed. this is why Model A Fords are not required to install air bags....

And: you are correct, a CA160 is a 6V system.

I looked up a CL160. Carry on.

• I get ya... my buddy's old chevy doesn't have seat belts... But as a new rider, and just to be safe where would one go to find a retro mod that would look period appropriate and run on a 6v system? or what parts would you bodge together to wire the system? Pics will come as soon as the bike does:)

Took 4 hours of searching, but I found a site that sells 6v and 12v full setups, and replica Honda amber/chrome light assemblies all for reasonable prices... if anyone is interested they can go to the site below, I may be trying them out soon if I get the bike. If I do, I'll take before and after pics.
