Automatic battery Maintainer/charger

Checking to see if anyone uses those Harbor Freight Battery maintainer/chargers such as this one:

I'd like to somehow mount it right in the battery box (I believe I'd have room) but for those clamps I'd like to switch out for something a little more "semi-permanent".....Basically looking for something I can just plug in and a week later know that my battery is 100%. My bike will not start unless it is recently charged....

Thoughts?

I use this Battery companian. It has a removable plug that can attach to the batt terminal clamps or can plug into a supplied plug that screws to your battery terminals that stays with the bike, it will just hang from the side of the seat. It will charge 6 or 12 volt batteries. I have one on my Ninja.

With this you have the charger available for other uses.

I bought the same charger from HF. I pretty much did the same as what Cleg has. I cut off the clamps and soldered on a connector to the leads. Then made a matching pigtail connector w/ some ring connectors that I attached to the battery. I made it just long enough to peek out over the airbox for easy access. I also reattached the clamps to a connector so I could use them again on something else. Not sure what the charger Cleg uses cost, but I probably spent $5 in parts.

I pretty much did the same thing. I bought the HB charger and cut off the clamps and did the same thing with the leads. On the other side, I cut the wires and put in a connector like you might see on an accessory plug in on a car. I let it just hang out of the battery box. A week so far and the battery is right up to snuff each time I've started it. Total cost: about $5.00 and a free set of screwdrivers for my kids. Recommended.....Steve
