Superhawk Frame Number/Year of Manufacture

Hi everyone,

I found an extensive frame number reference on here before but can't seem to find it again so I would like to ask for some help. I have bought a Superhawk CB77, it was advertised as a '62 but the registration paper says '67. I tried to figure it out but some references suggest it would be a '61 using the fact that the frame number starts with a 1, others say it's older because the frame number is 7 digits long. The frame number is CB77 1012373. Anybody sure what that means?

Thanks for your speedy reply! So looking at your list mine fits into the category of machines that discontinued the year of manufacture, so that makes it younger than a '64. I just need to find the breakdown of serial numbers issued in each of the following years to get the exact year of mine.

I know I read here, several weeks ago now, a post from someone and he had a really detailed list of engine serial numbers on his post. Unfortunately I can't find it again, I think this site is great with alot of useful information, but it is not easy to search for something in particular, the site doesn't have an open search function.

A reply to myself here! I have found the wiring harness tag and it says 1965 on there, so I guess that's that. Now I am looking forward to getting it registered here in France and explaining to the administration here why I think it is a '65 when the title deed says '67.....
