Kickstart detent ball

Post by rpr851r » Wed Aug 24, 2011 7:26 am

Hello all,

I am assembling the kick start arm to the knuckle on my CL77 and would like to know the diameter of the spring loaded ball (detent) that rides on the knuckle to keep the arm tucked in while running. The parts manual calls out a 5/16 ball (part 90451-200-000) but I swear there isn’t room for one that big.

Thanks,
Rich

Answered my own question after searching on the web for the part number above, which turned out to be for a 20mm washer (my parts book is wrong again). From an online fiche it looks like the ball should be ¼” with a part number of 96201-08000.
