I picked up a 64 cl 72 250 today a real rust bucket but it was dirt cheap, frame has more cracks than grannies clevage has wrinkles, I mean alot of dirt use so I open the top end up and yes it is frozen, but to my suprise the cam spocket has had the old racers trick of welding up the cam sprocket, so Iam working on getting it unstuck, then notice the pistons look really big for a 250, turns out the engine has a 305 top end on it, casting proves it,305, the case is a cl72 with 6 digits so some one put some time in on this one, it will be interesting to see whats in side the cases I was hoping the seat pan would fit my 63 but its different

BSA Lover,
Not sure what you intend to do with this in it's present condition, but if you proceed to get her going again, I have some 72 eng/trans parts available and not that far away. Rusty
